laser printer
- A type of printer that uses
laser technology to print images on paper. The laser recreates the image on
a negatively charged drum which then collects ink that is positively charged
to attract to the paper and then it is fused onto the paper. The first laser
printer was developed at Xerox PARC in 1971.
landscape mode - This printer setting prints the
image horizontally across the page and not vertically. This printer mode is
usually used to print charts or other text and images that may not fit on a
vertically printed page.
LaserWriter - LaserWriter is a brand name for a
kind laser printer that is that belongs to the Apple Macintosh family of
printers.
led printer - LED stands for light emitting
diode printer. These printers were developed by Casio and are capable of
printing close to the same quality as laser printers. LED printers work a
lot like laser printers but they use a LED panel that recreates the image on
a drum that is negatively charged. The places where light hits the drum
become less charged, and this attracts toner. Then the printer transfers the
toner from the drum to the paper and applies heat to fuse toner to the
paper.
